Sewer Rentals
Schools within the Borough shall pay a rental fee of Two Dollars and fifty-two cents ($2.57) per month per student and employees, based upon a census obtained in September of the new school term.
The sewer rate charges for all other users within the Borough of Mifflinburg shall be a base rate charge of $50.81 per month, plus $6.09 per 1,000 gallons of water consumption.
Consumption Charges to Buffalo Township and Limestone Township shall pay a rate of $16.26 per 1,000 gallons of water consumption. Consumption Charges to West Buffalo Township shall pay a rate of $14.65 per 1,000 gallons of water consumption.
Billing and Payment
Customers will be billed on the first day of each month with payment due on or before the 20th.
Any and all bills not paid in full within the first 20 days shall be assessed a penalty charge of five percent (5%) on the current month’s outstanding balance.
All bills over sixty (60) days past due shall be sufficient and just cause for the Borough to disconnect water utility services to prevent further use of the sewer utility and to impose a municipal lien on the property serviced by said sewer services.
Connection Fees
BEFORE CONNECTING to the Borough’s sewer system, the owner of new and improved properties shall pay the Borough connection fees, customer facilities fees, and tapping fees.
SEWER CONNECTIONS MADE IN A DEVELOPMENT OR SUBDIVISION (where the subdivision has constructed or installed all sewer lines connections, extensions, additions and improvements) must be approved by the Borough Engineer or an authorized Borough official.
SEWER PERMIT: The Borough shall require an official sewer connection permit for each new connection.
INSPECTION FEES: The Borough may levy an inspection fee for each such sewer permit, plus compensation may be assessed for the time, materials or equipment required to complete the inspection of each sewer connection.
Rate amendments may occur by resolution of the Borough Council.
